MIN MALANG 1 PROFILE

Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) Malang I is an Islamic-based elementary school which is under the supervision of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. At first, the school was meant to be a training facility for the students of the so-called PGAN 6 Tahun (School for Islamic Teachers Training and Education), which is now become the Islamic Senior High School 3 Malang. With the 1978 Government decree number 15 and 17 issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs the school changed its status into the so-called Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Malang I or MIN Malang I. The date on which the school declared its change of status, September 8^th, 1979 was then officially stated as the school anniversary.

Initially, the school only had 6 classes with not more than 115 students and was conducted by 6 teachers and one office worker in 1979. Based on the 2007/2008 data, however, the school has 40 classes with 1467 student, and 102 teachers and other school workers. MIN Malang I owes its success to:

Strong determination and high discipline of the school principal and all school workers
Constant improvement of the school facilities and conducive school environment
High commitment to enhance school achievement both academically and non-academically
Solid support from the parents and other parts of the society contributed through the School Board of MIN Malang I
