Based on the 1990 Goverment Decree, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Malang 1 applied similar curriculum to those applied in common elemtary level school with 7 additional lesson hours for the Islamic studied per week.
In order to catch up with the rapid development of technology, the following actions are applied by the school:
1. Javanese, English, and Computer are designated for the local content materials.
2. The school is equipped with computers, language and natural sciences laboratories, and an experimental garden for the students.
3. The fifth and sixth grade students are required to attend school at 06.00 everyday.
